YOUR COMMUNITY SUPPORTED THEATRE
Welcome to The Playhouse San Anselmo Website
When people think of The Playhouse in San Anselmo, they often remember through the eyes of a child who spent their time on stage in various theatre programs, or as a parent or grandparent proudly cheering on their actor on stage. The Playhouse has been the stage of choice for many fantastic performances by children’s theatre, amateur companies and semi professional community theatre. You may be a part of the thousands of patrons who have enjoyed the theater from the audience. Whichever way you have experienced The Playhouse in San Anselmo you are part of a lauded group who know just how special a place it is.

Thank you for visiting our website. Within you will find information and history about our theatre. This building has humble beginnings as a gymnasium for the Seminary, a building inspired by the great architecture of the times. Before long the space was converted into the charming theater we cherish today, with arena seating above a stage deck converted from a gym floor. There is much to learn about and you can learn about the history by reading a letter from General Manager, Tori Housh.

If you are looking for performances, please check out the Box Office link. To purchase tickets you can find a link from any of the featured events on the page. Each link will take you to a ticket sales page of that production company.
Our mission is to keep a low cost rental facility so that the performing community in the area is able to work in an affordable, functional, state of the art theater. To keep that mission alive we charge the lowest rent possible to keep the space financially realistic to small local theater companies. We do this with the aide of patrons such as yourself. Thank you so much for visiting, if you would like to learn how you can become more involved - or ensure that The Playhouse in San Anselmo can continue as the hub of this community's theatre, please click here to support our efforts.
